Please accept our apologies for the short notice of this announcement but hopefully you will understand why. Please contact school if you need support. Further information regarding remote learning will follow.

Advice to All Parents - Single case
Dear Parents,
We have been advised that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the school.
We know that you may find this concerning but are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
The small number of children who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case will have received an individual letter and will be staying at home for 14 days.
The school remains open and your child should continue to attend if they remain well.
Please check your emails for the full details.

Dear parents ,
Thank you for your continued support of school during these difficult times. We hope that you and your families are well.
Over the last week we have had a few parents ask questions regarding the wider opening of school. As a school we are following guidelines set by the government and our Multi-Academy Trust. When making decisions we first have to consider the safety of children and staff on the school site. To do this we have kept our 'bubble' groups to a number that ensure that all involved are safe. As part of the government guidelines there are clear instructions about how bubble groups cannot mix and that toilet facilities should be only used by specific groups. This, to a certain degree limits the number of children we can have safely on site at any one time.
However with this in mind the school continues to remain open to the children of key workers, who have been working tirelessly during this pandemic and to Y6 pupils. We currently have a waiting list in place, and parents who are key workers or parents of Y6 children, who have contacted school have been placed on the waiting list. For all other years groups class teachers will continue to remain in contact, via class dojo, up to the end of the school year to support home learning.
Plans and arrangements for September are currently being put in place, however, until the government publishes the latest guidance we cannot give any concrete answers. If you do have any concerns or questions regarding September, please email school and we will endeavour to answer any questions. As usual, school reports will be sent home, towards the end of term, and there will be a chance to discuss the contents of the report with class teachers.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs M Hill

Dear Families,
I hope you are well and that Class Dojo is working well for you and your child! Please let us know if you are having any problems connecting or you would like more support.
I’m glad to say that we now have lots of children in school and are welcoming back our wonderful Y6 children to ensure that they can take part in our primary transition programme.
My focus this week has been to ensure that we greet a new groups of pupils back in to school and to make sure all relevant health and safety checks have been completed for all. We have to consider the DfE guidance and we are getting close to capacity.
Just to clarify working arrangements and to thank staff for working hard to make sure that children are supported whether staff are in school, some during the weekends, or working from home awaiting their shift. Staff work on a rota basis to make sure that it is safe and that there are not too many people in at once.
Some staff are not in school as they have been advised to stay at home but we are extremely lucky as we currently do not have any personally shielding or have had any cases of Covid-19 despite recent presumptions.
Please advise school if you are aware of any cases in the community.
Please email school at any point if you have any questions or concerns regarding the next few weeks.

Dear all,
We have had some wonderful messages, letters, cards and photographs that we have been so happy to see. Thank you so much for these. We have even had gifts dropped at our door. You can send messages to our email or the website. We have responded to each and every kind message or comment and have helped people with the site or resource packs or food parcels where we can.
We hope that you are getting the messages that we send out - unfortunately the text service only allow for a certain number of characters so please be patient with us as we have to send out basic information in a short text! However everything is usually posted on the Website.
We are currently looking at the best ways to send learning out - this is difficult as we haven’t been sent all contact details from families in school and our IT systems are in the process of change. This was planned by the Academy before the current Covid-19 situation happened. We are currently looking into new ways of communicating with you and your children at home, however for now, staff are working hard both in and out of school to make sure you have learning for the term.
We have provided you with the best websites we can find, such as BBC Bitesize, and we are hoping to use Oak Learning Academy to help with further resources.
We hope you will enjoy those. Please get in touch if you need us.
We miss you and hope to see you all soon!

Hello all,
Thank you for the positive comments we have received this week around the new Learning packs - we hope you and your children are finding them useful. We have had several questions and requests this week so hopefully this post will answer some of your questions. The learning packs have been designed to support your child at home and we do not intend them to cause any increased anxiety at home. We hope that they will require some structure and routine to your child's day but there is not a set amount of work we want a child to complete in a day. The learning on the website is to support your child for the next 3-4 weeks. If you want something different to the learning packs please follow the BBC bitesize and Oak Academy links on the website where you will find online lessons with interactive resources that will support your child.
1. The packs do not need to be printed. Some year groups would require a considerable amount of paper. We recommend that you answer them on a separate piece of paper reading the questions off the screen.
2. We have tested the files and they should all open on iphone, ipad and laptops and computers with Microsoft word and Adobe reader. If your device does not open these documents we would recommend that you follow the BBC bitesize link initially and contact school to let us know the make of your device you are using so we can update our software. We are aware the school website is designed to be viewed on a tablet or computer rather then mobile phone. We are sorry that it does not function as it should on a mobile phone but currently we cannot change this.
3. Due to a skeleton staff in school it is not possible for us to print and deliver packs to families. Therefore from Thursday 23rd April we will be have a limited number of printed packs available to be collected from outside the school entrance. Please do not ring the buzzer or try and gain entry to school. These packs are limited, if the learning pack you need is not available when you arrive at school please try the next day as due to skeleton staffing in school we cannot print them on request.
4. We have tried to put a wide variety of learning on the website. We do not require children to complete everything. There is not a set amount of learning for everyday or an amount we expect you to complete in a day. How much work your child does is a decision best made by you - however we are happy to advise and support where possible. However we would recommend a consistent routine from Monday - Friday to give your child the structure during these difficult times.
5. If you have any further questions the best time to contact school is between 8:30 and 9am by phone or the school email.
Thank you for your support and patience during these difficult times.
Monday 20th April 2020 (update 2)
We hope that you are all staying safe and are as well as can be during these incredibly hard times. The school website has today been updated with new learning packs - go to the 'home learning' tab and your child's year group to access the learning. There is a variety of work on there for the next 2-3 weeks. We hope that this will support learning at home. Where you have limited internet access - e.g. just through phone data, please contact the school office (either by phone or email) and we will organise a printed pack for you . If you have any questions about the content please feel free to email school and we will offer support where possible.
Alongside the learning packs there is also a link on each year group to BBC bitesize. Starting today they are producing lessons for each year group, which include interactive activities, videos and teaching support. We hope you find them useful.
Monday 20th April 2020 (update 1)
Vouchers have now been emailed out to children eligible for free school meals. However please be aware that due to the high volume of vouchers being sent out nationally they are taking some time to arrive in peoples inboxes. Thank you for staying patient - we hope that they will be with you soon.
Friday 17th April 2020
Dear parents and carers,
A quick reminder that the Department for Education have asked that schools remain closed and are only open as childcare for children of critical workers and vulnerable children. Please contact school if you feel you fall into either of these criteria. Government guidance remains the same -Stay Home, Stay Safe, Protect the NHS.
Monday marks what would usually be the summer term in school. New home learning packs will be released early next week and a text message will be sent out as each year groups work is uploaded. Please continue to check the website daily as new material is added to support your child's learning at home. If you are in need of any support or advice please contact school through enquiries@bmj.wwpat.org.
Thank you for your support,

Welcome to Brinsworth Manor Junior School.
We are very proud of our school and try to ensure that all our children feel happy and secure here and that they are helped to achieve their full potential through a broad, stimulating and relevant curriculum. It is important to us that all children are successful.
We employ a range of teaching styles and provide lots of opportunities for the children to learn from first hand experiences that involve the children actively in their learning. Here at Brinsworth Manor we feel it is very important that the children’s imagination and creativity are developed together with an eagerness for learning.
The primary curriculum should help each child to develop a firm foundation on which they can build in preparation for adult life. We recognise each child’s individuality and try to meet his/her needs in a caring environment, committed to raising the achievement of all across a broad spectrum of opportunities and experiences which promote the development of the child socially, physically, intellectually, morally, artistically and spiritually.
We provide an attractive and caring learning environment in which the children develop tolerance and respect for others, self-esteem, independence and responsibility, together with a caring attitude towards the immediate school environment, the local community and wider environmental issues.
We hope to promote a strong feeling of partnership between the school and parents and therefore welcome your close involvement in your child’s education.
We trust you will find the information on the website useful and informative. Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
