Home learning for the holidays is as follows:
- Continue to learn times-tables facts as usual. You need to learn them with someone else to help keep you on track. Learn the by heart, then quickfire facts, then division facts. The hardest facts in any times table are x7 and x8 - learn these ones by heart. The order of difficulty goes - x2, x10, x5, x4, x3, x6, x9, x8, x7. Remember that you can work out your facts by working from ones you know - for example 7x4 is double 7x2, and 6x7 is 7 more than 5x7, etc Use the multiplication websites on the Links page to make learning fun.
- Explain to an adult how to do the 199x table (there are 199 steps below the Abbey in Whitby). Clue - you only need to know your 200x table & adjust from there.
