Y6 Swimming interviewed people from Whitby and visitors to compare their experiences of the town. Here's a selection below. You'll enjoy the Nosey Parker interview:
Gymnastics class interviewed people in Whitby - residents and tourists. Notice how the questions they ask (towards the top) move away from the script they were given. Notice also Cally's cheek to the lady who works in the pub!
Dear Y6 parent/carer,
Tweets from Whitby
When your child’s Y6 class is in Whitby, we’ll be sending Twitter messages at least once a day to let you know how the class is getting on. We’ll post photos of some of the things we’ve seen (no identifiable pictures of the children, though). We might even post messages from some of the children. When we’re on the way back, we’ll post an estimated time of arrival and updates via Twitter so that you know when we’ll be back at school.
These posts will be available on the front page of the school website bmaj.rotherham.sch.uk or you can ‘follow’ us on Twitter at https://twitter.com/bmajsch (click the link on the front page of the website). If you’ve a smartphone, you can install the Twitter App and follow us by mobile phone. For full details of how to follow or install, there’s a handy guide on the Contact page on our website.
If it seems new-fangled, it is; but it’s not as difficult as it seems!
The Y6 team
Many thanks to Mr Horst for spotting the Whitby tweets on the @bmajstaff Twitter account. Now retweeted on @bmajsch.
To keep up to date with the goings on in Whitby, you can 'follow' us on Twitter. Mrs Needham is sending regular tweets on how things are going for 6M. You can view our Twitter 'feed' on this page or the front page of the main website (although some firewalls might block the feed). Otherwise, click this link to see the school's direct Twitter account. To create a Twitter account of your own and to find out how to get texts with the latest updates, go to the Contact page for a video & instructions.
If you don't want the texts any more, text 'Unfollow bmajsch' to 86444.
Get packing for your Whitby trip. You don't need your hair straighteners but you do need a good coat, warm clothes and shoes - keep warm, dry & happy. No electronics or phones please. You really won't need that suitcase for two nights away!
We're Whitby bound on Monday (6D & 6B). Watch this space for updates on how we're getting on. We'll be posting to Twitter a couple of times a day & updating the Y6 blog when we can. Follow us on Twitter to keep up with all the news. See the Contact page for instructions (it's dead easy!)
Make sure you've a coat in case of cold & rain and shoes that'll keep your feet dry. Monday looks OK but rain forecast on Tuesday.
