A superb performance of Richard III from the Y6 children from the Juniors and a 'follow that then' opening Act from the Y1 Infants on the final night of Rotherham's Shakespeare Festival. We had a fabulous time performing it. If you were in the audience, tell us what you thought via Twitter or the comments below.
_ Muppet Christmas Carol
Scene 1 (Scrooge’s offices)
(Bob Cratchet is sat at his desk, writing with a quill pen. Mr Applegate stands waiting. Enter Mr Scrooge. Mr Applegate gulps loudly.)
Scrooge: Bob Cratchet?
Bob Cratchet: Yes, sir?
Scrooge: Who is this? (pointing at Mr Applegate with his walking cane)
Bob Cratchet: It’s Mr Applegate, sir. He’s here to talk to you about his… (gulps) mortgage.
Mr Applegate: Please, Mr Scrooge. I know you’re very angry about this. And I didn’t mean to fall behind with the payments. Lord knows it being Christmas an’ all. Oh please don’t shout at me sir. That and of course little Gwen. Her lungs aren’t right. The doctor takes his share, don’t he? I mean, you can yell and scream, and you’d be right. But it won’t do no good, because I’m the stone you can’t squeeze blood from… (Scrooge picks him up) … and that’s the… (as Scrooge throws him out of the door) … truth! (Outside) Thank you for not shouting at me!
