We're also going to be putting references to homework on the Y6 blog from this week. We won't put the actual homework sheets on - that'd be very difficult - but it'll help you to know exactly what homework your child should have and when it should be handed in. That'll help a lot when the dog's eaten their homework! If homework is lost or your child wasn't present when it was handed out, there should always be spare copies available in class - they'll know where to get it, otherwise ask. Miss McVey will be responsible for blogging homework up to Christmas and Mr Brooks will take over in January.
In response to a parental request, we'll also put additional voluntary homework on the blog for those children who'd like to do a little bit more. Remember, though, that if you work alongside your child when they're doing homework, you'll just about double how much they learn from it; don't tell them the answers, but discuss what they're doing and ask them to teach you how to do it - explaining how is an extremely effective way of over-learning.
We've a wealth of homework help on our website. Go to the Links page and use the tabs to find what you need. We really do have the best educational links in the whole of Greater Rotherham!
